Running Rivers

“Running Rivers” is a contemporary arts project that educates, raises awareness, and shares stories of belonging, regeneration, and remembrance through our connection to waterways.
Using both solo and community-engaged practices, the project tracks the journey of the river through a multidisciplinary collection of drawings, paintings, fiber art, film, installations, and performances. It includes public exhibitions and community workshops.
The project, inspired by the artistic concept of river flow, consists of three interconnected sub-projects, or “rivers”:
  1. Running Rivers: Pigments of Place – a creative inquiry exploring the question, “Where am I?”
  2. Running Rivers: Pilgrims of Place – a creative exploration of the question, “Who am I?”
  3. Running Rivers: People of Place – a forthcoming exploration into the question, “Why am I here?”
I successfully completed three pilgrimages across three rivers, each culminating in a separate exhibition that featured its own public programming, including participatory art experiences, performances, and artist talks.
The projects garnered exceptional feedback from audiences, cultural advisors, curators, and arts leaders alike.
